JOSEPH GRAHAM, MANAGING PARTNER
Joseph
(Chip) Graham brings 20 years of experience in silvicultural
services and land management to J. H. Graham, L.L.C. In 1993 he
founded the firm to provide forestry services with integrity and
professionalism to the landowners of North & Central Alabama. In a
relatively short period of time he has gained invaluable hands on
experience in all aspects of the timber industry. Chip possesses the
self-confidence and initiative to serve his clients in all facets of
timberland investments.
In
1990, while working for Drennen Forestry Services, Chip established
a new service area in South Alabama. Through his dedicated efforts
the Montgomery, Alabama-based service area grew to 4 full time
employees with over 30 contract laborers in just two years.
Chip
has worked with foresters and landowners across the Southeast. He
has developed an extensive network of clients and associates with
which to share information regarding the issues facing today’s
timberland managers. His greatest strength is his ability to
maximize client returns through the use of progressive management
practices and present day technology.
His
success is based upon his initiative, willingness to make decisions
and to accept responsibility. These skills along with the experience
of working with people in many different geographic areas allow him
to recognize client needs and to develop plans to achieve their
desired results. Chip’s hands on experience in the silvicultural
service industry uniquely qualify him to prescribe and carrying out
forest management practices.
He attended Auburn
University graduating in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry
Management. Since graduation he has completed numerous continuing
education courses including: Endangered Species Identification and
Management, Timber Income Tax, Estate Planning for Forest
Landowners, Timberland Appraisal Basics and Essentials of Section
1031 Exchanges in Alabama. He is a State of Alabama Registered
Forester, a Licensed Real Estate Broker and a Licensed Residential
Home Builder in the State of Alabama. Chip served consecutive terms
as President of the Walker County Board of Realtors and is a member
of the First Baptist Church of Jasper.
Howard
Graham brings over 40 years of management and acquisition skills to
our team. In addition to his forestry related activities he plays an
integral role in the non-forestry aspects of land management by
providing consulting services for clients with special needs. A
background in logging, lumber, land appraisal, surface mining and
heavy construction qualifies him to wear many hats.
He
also brings many years of invaluable land acquisition and
negotiating experience.
From June of 1986 to early 1988 Howard coordinated and
directly participated in the acquisition of an entire community
consisting of more than fifty homes.
